Project Statuses
Projects move through a series of statuses as work progresses:
Not Scheduled — The project has been created but no start date is set yet
Scheduled — Start and/or end dates have been set
In Progress — Work has actively begun
Completed — The project is finished
Cancelled — The project has been cancelled
Changing status:
On the web app, you can change status by editing the project and selecting a new status from the dropdown in the sidebar. In the Kanban view, you can drag and drop project cards between status columns.
On the mobile app, edit the project and change the status field.
What happens when a project is completed:
When you change a project's status to Completed, the system automatically:
Sets the Completed Date to the current date
Creates a draft Invoice if the project has a linked estimate — the invoice copies the line items, totals, and tax rate from the estimate
Sends you a notification
Customizing status labels:
Account owners can rename the display labels for each status column. Click the settings gear icon, then go to the Customization tab > Project Status Labels. For example, you could rename "Not Scheduled" to "Backlog" or "In Progress" to "On Site". The internal values stay the same.
